In the Paris suburb of Rambouillet, an innovative experiment by French startup Glowee is testing streetlights that use bioluminescence.
These lights contain marine bacteria, Aliivibrio fischeri, in tubes of saltwater which produce a natural, soft blue-green glow when aerated, requiring no electricity.
While this carbon-free system offers benefits like reduced light pollution, making it ideal for parks.
